Reliable, Cutting-Edge System Uses Trouble-Free Wireless Connections
Keep your home or business safe and secure with this reliable, cutting-edge wireless security system. The SC-1000 utilizes innovative technology with trouble-free wireless connections to provide security, making it a great choice for protecting against intruders and safeguarding in case of an accident, fire, flood, or other emergency.
Do-it-Yourself Security Eliminates the Need for Monitoring Fees
The SC-1000 is a do-it-yourself system, which means you can easily install it yourself and then use it without paying monitoring fees or registering with an alarm company. To arm or disarm, you simply enter your personal code or use the keychain transmitter.
Rolling-Code Technology for Maximum Security and Fewer False Alarms
|
Skylink is the first company to incorporate rolling-code technology into a home/business security system, which means that the SC-1000 provides maximum security while virtually eliminating the number of false alarms. A rolling code (or hopping code) is often used in entry systems that don’t require a key, because it prevents an eavesdropper from capturing and using your personal security code. Thanks to rolling-code technology, the SC-1000′s control panel will recognize radio waves only from its remote sensors (door/window sensor, motion sensor, and keychain transmitter), thereby preventing high-tech thieves from duplicating signals and tampering with your system.
Motion, Door, and Window Sensors for Reliable Emergency Protection
The SC-1000 comes complete with a motion sensor and two door/window sensors–enough coverage for small- to medium-sized homes. Because it works in conjunction with up to 30 Skylink security accessories, including Dial Alert, Alarm Detector Sensor, and Flood Sensor, this system can be customized to suit your needs and can be expanded to accommodate larger spaces or businesses that require a higher level of protection. If any sensors are triggered when the system is armed, the included 110dB siren will make a piercing sound, and the sensor will immediately send a wireless signal to the system’s dialer.
Automatically Calls for Help in an Emergency
In case of an emergency, the SC-1000 follows a straightforward process to make sure you get the help you need. When you receive the system, you can program the emergency dialer to call up to nine different phone numbers, including your cellular phone, a pager, your doctor, relatives, friends, neighbors, etc., should something trigger one of the sensors. You’ll also record a personal 40-second emergency message. In case of emergency, the system’s dialer will automatically dial the number or numbers you have entered. Once the recipient picks up the phone, the emergency dialer will play your prerecorded message and inform the recipient that you are in an emergency situation and that help should be sent right away.
Lighted Keypad and Low-Battery Indicator for Easy Operation
Offering simple and straightforward operation, the SC-1000 features a lighted keypad that is easy to read in dark conditions and offers Chime, Instant, and Delay modes. It runs on AC power with nine-volt alkaline battery backup (battery included), and provides a helpful low-battery indicator to prevent a loss of power.
What’s in the Box
Alarm with control panel (SC-001); one motion sensor (PS-434A); two door/window sensors (WT-433); one keychain transmitter (4B-434); one emergency dialer (AD-433S); two adapters; three nine-volt alkaline batteries; three 12-volt alkaline batteries; phone line; instruction manual; and warranty card.

Alarm Systems – An Extra Hand to Safety
Alarm systems have become standard equipment in many businesses, and they are becoming increasingly common in private homes as well. When shopping for alarm systems, you will discover that there is a wide variety of options available. Alarm systems range from do-it-yourself installation kits to sophisticated whole-house security networks that must be installed by professionals.
Even if you choose one of the available high-tech alarm systems, the basic concept is the same. It was made for protection and it can make you feel extra safe. In order to grasp the functions of various alarm systems, you must start with the Brain or the Control Panel. This device comes with all alarm systems and its main function is to alert output devices when receiving signals from security alarm sensors.
The Key Pad allows you to interact with the alarm systems; with its help you can turn you security alarm on and off. It is placed by the main entry and as alarm systems have evolved it has become much easier to use. This device made especially for burglar alarm systems has night time options with illuminated screens and speed use emergency, just by pushing a single button. Many alarm systems have also remote control key pads, which are lightweight and portable.
Contacts are additional features of all the available alarm systems on the market. They detect the opening and closing of doors and windows. This device alerts the control panel of alarm systems when the magnetic bond between the door frame and the door is broken. There are three types of contacts made for burglar alarm systems. Recessed contacts are hidden in the window tracks and door jams. They are more complicated to install unless the burglar alarm systems are placed during the construction phase of one’s home. Surface mounted contacts are visible when the door or windows are closed and they come in various sizes and colors to blend in. Roller ball contacts are the latest hit on the burglar alarm systems market; they are installed in the hinge side of the door jam and they are extremely efficient. All types of contacts can be hardwired directly to the control panel of the burglar alarm systems or you can choose a wireless version.
Glass break detectors are special made for burglar alarm systems. They detect the breaking of windows or glass doors by listening for the specific sound frequency of breaking glass. This kind of detectors are a very attractive feature of many burglar alarm systems.
The most important and widely used sensors for burglar alarm systems are motion detectors. They are able to detect movement within a pre-set range of a given enviroment and there are many types available on the market. Still, the one that most burglar alarm systems have are infrared motion detectors. They use infrared or passive infrared sensors to alert the security system to certain changes in the levels of heat and/or movement. The device is extra tricky, it sends invisible fingers out into the covered area in several layers. It even has a microchip that adjusts the device for slow and methodical temperature changes.
Still, there are some drawbacks to these devices custom made for burglar alarm systems. This technology is not able to see through walls or windows as they consider touching one of them as their final destination. Also, the beams project forward only and does not bend around corners. There are minor setbacks compared to what level of safety can this device can confer.
Other types of motion detectors offered by several burglar alarm systems are the one which can be mounted in corners or on the ceiling. The first are widely used and they are included in many burglar alarm systems as primary features. The second offer full 360° coverage and they are useful in rooms in which the corner motion detectors are blocked by doors or shelves.
There are many additional features of alarm systems. Smoke and heat detectors, gas and carbon monoxide detectors, holdup panic buttons are just some of them. All these devices come together and form amazing alarm systems, specially designed to protect your house and yourself. You should consider this investment and choose a performant security system.

Things to Consider When Choosing Security Alarm Systems

According to the US Census Bureau Statistical Abstract, there were 8,811 burglary larceny and theft cases in the US in 2008 alone. These figures just make it all the more essential to get security alarm systems for the protection of your family and possessions. However, homeowners often face a dilemma when shopping for reliable security alarm systems owing to the multitude of home alarm companies available today.
Security Alarm Systems: Things to Consider
Here are a few things you need to consider when you are looking for security alarm systems to suit your specific requirements.
1. Remote Monitoring or Local Alarms: Decide whether you want a remote monitoring alarm system or whether a local alarm system would do. With remote monitoring systems, whenever an alarm is tripped, apart from sounding the sirens, the security center is also alerted. These security monitoring services charge a monthly fee ranging between $30 and $50 a month. These monitoring systems generally utilize landline phones to connect to the monitoring centers, but they can also be configured to call through cellular technology in case the telephone lines are cut. Local alarms, on the other hand, will only sound an alarm alerting the people in the house. If there is no one at home, there is no one to act on the alarm.
2. Extent of Protection: Basic alarm systems monitor perimeter doors. You could choose to integrate additional detection options, such as motion sensors monitoring windows and other vulnerable points of entry and glass break sensors, which trigger an alarm if a window is broken. Carbon monoxide sensors, smoke detectors and flooding detectors can also be integrated into security alarm systems to enhance the extent of protection.
3. Wireless versus Hard-wired Alarm Systems: Components of security alarm systems can either be connected to the local alarm system using wireless transmission or by hard wiring. Generally, hard wired alarm systems tend to be cheaper, although the installation of such systems can be cumbersome in existing homes, as wires need to be routed through the walls. On the other hand, the components of wireless home alarm systems are slightly larger than their hard wired counterparts. The installation process is also comparatively less difficult and can be easily done all around the house without any difficulty. The wireless components will, however, require battery replacements from time to time.

Stay Safe And Protected At Home With Innovative Wireless Alarm Systems And Cctv
Your house will probably be your most valuable property. You have spent countless amounts of money and time making it feel and look good. Supplying each room and also adding your furniture in order to make it your own, your pleasure to reside in. But all this can be disrupted with a single lapse of judgement: not being safeguarded from unwanted visitors. Visitors that could break in and undo every single piece of that hard work. Picture yourself as a monarch back in early England, a king in his fort, and think about the security you would have had from criminals. Guards with longbows including a drawbridge over a moat would have undoubtedly put off any individual thinking they might break in for their own individual gain.
Household Insurance policies are surely a good option as it will give you some kind of protection making it much easier for you sleep through the night, but is it enough? No. It’s not. What could be done about this? It’s 2010, moats and armed guards are not sensible. These days house alarms, home burglar alarms, home security systems and even wireless alarm systems are the prime defence and are ideally needed to ensure your property’s security from burglars, intruders and criminals. Fitting a building security systems can and will improve the safety of your family and property.
Is it possible to imagine returning from your grocery shopping trip only to discover your own home has had what appears to be a tornado rip through it? Imagine papers and empty draws strewn over the floors, glass smashed, full disrespect for your family home and an empty space where all your precious, pricey possessions used to be. Jewellery that had been in the family for a long time has now vanished with no trace. The new TV you just purchased as well as the kids’ games console that they just got for Christmas has been torn from pride of place. It isn’t something you should worry about. Ever.
A house alarm system is a huge deterrent with regards to thiefs. Why would you get ‘hit’ when you had an alarm system put in but the house nearby does not? You wouldn’t, consider it. Criminals take the easiest way out, not only in their choice of life but in their choice of destinations to thieve from.
You can understand why useful burglar alarms are in so much of a need lately. With the recession still floating around and joblessness at a high, individuals residing on the edge turn to crime. Don’t be a victim. Burglar alarm systems are mainly electronic devices that are connected to a series of sensors plus the alarm siren itself. All elements are connected to a main control unit through either a low voltage narrowband RF signal or hardwired. Each time a sensor is ‘tripped’ and a relationship is created between the unit and the sensor, it will sound the alarm to build an immediate result.
By far the most common varieties of alarms are able to pick up the opening of a window or door and are usually linked using wires if possible. Wireless systems can supply benefits over the wired alarm system. Advantages can include a simpler set-up, effortless operation and intense flexibility.
You’ll be able to find systems that are specialized in a single function. There are systems that handle intrusion, fire, along with other safety elements. The chief question to ask when looking to order a system is “is it fit for purpose and can it continue to keep ME safe?” if “yes” then it’s the system for you.
Design and features are all down to your very own particular needs and a reputable alarm company can help you address this. Would you like a little alarm on just one door or an alarm system that handles the primary points of access to the house? Are you wanting a complete computerised control system or one that may be activated/deactivated with the push of a button? All these questions need to be answered and once they are you will be one step nearer to securing your castle.
Effectiveness of burglar alarms relies upon vastly on how many zones which are being monitored, how many sensors you have installed and their sensitivity. Again, a reliable organization should be able to talk you through the ins and outs of a new system to you personally. Alarm systems currently can trigger different actions like phoning the police or fire department and also the ambulance service immediately. Other alarms can contact a private number to notify property owners to find out if the alarm is genuine for example.
The result you want from a security system is for the alarm to activate when any a sensor may be activated. Then that action should cause a reaction due to a siren or an automatic call through to the police etc.
Some insurance firms require your premises have an alarm system as they consider you to be at too much of a liability if you are not secure in that way. As you can tell, the use of an excellent alarm system greatly outweigh the costs. Remember while looking for wireless alarm systems to make contact with alarm companies who’ve gained many years of experience inside the business and can cater for every situation. You should also look close to home for your alarm company, for example if you live in Kidderminster then look for CCTV Systems Kidderminster, it’s self explanatory really. You should get a system that’s reliable, effective and made of high quality materials so that it can stand the test of time.
John Anderson writes articles for Alert Alarms. Alert Alarms are experts in home security and can provide you with all the security you need. Including wireless alarm systems and CCTV systems. Based in Midlands area Alert Alarms offer CCTV Systems Kidderminster and wireless alarms Warwickshire.
Security and Fire Alarm Systems Installers Job Description
Security and Fire Alarm Systems Installers Job Description
I would like to design a homemade burglar alarm system. Can you shed some light?
I would like to design a homemade burglar alarm system. Whenever somebody touches the grill installed on the outside of my window or event the air conditioner cover, it should trigger an alarm. I would like to activate this during night times and when we are out, so that we can stop burglar from getting in.
My failed attempt included a small battery, copper wires, and a bulb (later replaced by car horns). I connected one end of the battery to the bulb and other end was grounded. The other end of the bulb was wired to the grill. But, it doesn’t like my idea and the bulb never glows when I hold the grill myself.
To be frank, I am not an Electronics geek.
Could you please address this issue and help me in designing a simple burglar alarm system.
